“Awesome little Thai place”

5 of 5 starsReviewed October 26, 2012

Got carry out here while in Sarasota and everything was terrific! Even the heat level was perfect (2 out of 4) They treated me like a king. Can't wait to return for a dine-in experience.

Just delicious !”

My husband and I have eaten here twice and it is fantastic . I had the coconut soup with chicken and it is the best I have ever had - I wanted to drink the liquid from the bottom of the bowl ! My husband had the homemade sausage appetizer and he thought it was really delicious - little spicy for me . I had pad thai for my meal and it was awesome too - huge portion and the sauce was really tasty . The leftovers heated up well for lunch the next day . They have a suprisingly nice craft beer list for a small restaurant and the wine list seemed good as well - though we are beer people through and through ...The service is prompt and very friendly and all the servers check in on the tables so the food arrives hot and you never run out of drinks .Overall - highly recommended !!!

We are in Siesta Key with friends and were looking for a good dinner pre-movie. We went to yelp for a recommendation, and were not disappointed. We had several of the items mentioned in above reviews. Sausage appetizer and golden
triangles were great. Service and ambiance tops. Will definitely come back.

Total agree with all the other 5 stars. This place is a gem. Went there for a second time last night. Friday around 8.

Others have covered the dishes fairly well and they are spot on. Fresh ingredients, perfectly prepared and seasoned.

I love the atmosphere. It's small and has an authentic feel without being over the top. There are about 7 booths along one wall and tables long the other. The booths are draped in fabric and provide a nice intimate feel. The place has a warmth to it that makes you want to linger.

The staff are awesome, friendly and kind. Loving like you are family. That and they bust ass. They work as a team. Whoever sees that you need something is on it. They help each other out and the flow is nice. You never have to wonder if your server is going to come around or if you should just get up and find your own chopsticks. Someone will walk by and make eye contact. Just smile, ask and say thank you. The food comes out fast and straight out of the wok. The dishes are cleared in a timely manor and drinks are never empty.

The times I've been they where busy but it was not packed. They have limited seating so I think they should be able to handle things and maintain quality of service when business picks up. Something tells me they are going to be slammed once word gets out.

Notes:
-Most main dishes run around $12 for dinner.
-The papaya salad makes a great app or get it with your meal and order it mild to provide a cool refresher.
-They don't play with the spice. "Hot" is the equivalent to "Thai Hot" at most restaurants in the area. If you need more spice they will bring it on the side. I suggest the fish sauce with hot peppers.

There's good reason that every review posted so far for this hidden jewel is five stars. It's a small restaurant with a tasteful atmosphere, friendly owner, excellent service and a skillful Chef.

Although we weren't adventuresome on this first lunch we are looking forward to working our way through the menu. We stared with Thai Spring Rolls (2 @ $3.50) ample portions stuffed with delicious filling and a perfectly crisp rice paper skin served with sweet and sour dipping sauce.

My wife had Fried Tofu ($7.95) with a sweet & sour sauce. This was teeming with perfectly prepared vegetables; crispy carrots, peppers, tomato and more. A meal any vegetarian (which she isn't) would love.

I went with the Pad Thai ($8.95) with Calamari. Too often this dish is served as a "glop" of flavored rice noodles. The care in preparation was clear; the noodles and calamari were tender mixed with bean sprouts, scallions and topped with crunchy peanuts. I made sure my wife got a portion before I made it all disappear.

Both of these dishes (and many others) are included as a lunch special with excellent won-ton soup or a salad. Also, as crazy as this sounds they had the best white rice I've ever eaten.

See the picture of each dish posted here but if you like the light handed, flavorful, beautiful touch of Thai food check this place out. We'll be back - again and again.

If there is one thing Sarasota has, it's an abundance of Thai restaurants, and by no means am I complaining! Competition is good. It helps to keep them on their toes and every one wins! The day that we visited we had just finished running errands and had the baby with us so we didn't have time to try their appetizers, but Im a huge fan of the fresh spring rolls which they had on the menu. Anytime I go to a new Thai restaurant I have to try the classics, Pad Thai and Pad Woon Sen. The Pad Woon Sen was a perfect blend of vegetables and enough seasoning that it wasn't overly seasoned but what you would expect from your favorite Thai cafe that you have frequented all along. I really enjoyed the Pad Thai. Once again they had no problem making sure that it wasn't dry or soupy but riding that perfect balance of delicious. The Pad Thai was a little different from what I was used to. Instead of the sweet and salty tamarind sauce garnished with peanuts and other little pops of flavor this one had a hint of extra peanut sauce, but truth be told... I LOVED IT! Ok, so as hurried as we thought we were even the little one was enjoying our lunch so we decided to take a roll of the dice and order desert. Once again we rolled with the trifecta! Coconut ice cream, Mango ice cream, and Sweet Thai sticky rice. A few thai places around town get their ice cream from local ice cream shops but the owner confirmed that all ice cream was made in house. The Mango was bright and popped with as much color as flavor. The coconut ice cream was right on point also, both very smooth yet had enough fruit pieces folded into the mix to slow you down to give you just enough time in between bites to smile. I had to save the best for last, thai sweet rice custard. I have had this at so many places, with so many names, in so many different ways that I dont pay attention anymore I ask and they know. Isan didn't fail to hit the nail right on the head yet again! Im not going to go into describing the combination of the fresh mango over the steaming custardy sweet coconut rice and more than I have to.

Fabulous!!
This new restaurant is definitely worth checking out. The food was absolutely delicious, well prepared with very fresh ingrediants, our lunch was completely satisfying. Next time we intend to try the dinner menu. The service was friendly and gracious. The decor was elegant and comfortable with authentic Thai artwork and sculpture. We intend to to be regulars even tho' we don't live in the immediate neighborhood. Good luck to the owners!!

Exceptional

Several Thai restaurants in this town, and I have tried them all. This brand new restaurant blew the rest out of the water. Found it by driving by and seeing the sign.
Very fresh food, beautifully prepared. Can't wait to go back.

Wonderful
I stopped in to check out the dinner menu. They were friendly and the place was nice inside. I ordered the pad thai togo. They were very pleasant to be around while waiting for my order. It did not take long to make. The food was absolutely great. It was just the right amount of seasonings and nice portions. I will be a regular. You must check it out if you like thai food.
